چکیده

In recent years, distributed generation (DG) has become more common in modern distribution networks (DNs). The presence of these small-scale units within a DN brings new challenges to protection engineers, since short-circuit currents tend increase; additionally, as with microgrids, DNs may feature several operational modes depending on their topology and the availability DG. This paper presents methodology for optimal coordination overcurrent relays (OCRs) high Given fact that is non-linear non-convex optimization problem, hybrid harmony search simulated annealing (HS-SA) approach was implemented its solution compared against other techniques, such conventional HS, genetic algorithm (GA), particle swarm (PSO) PSO-HS. Several tests were performed DN, considering different operative scenarios function DG available network. A comparison works reported specialized literature carried out, evidencing applicability effectiveness HS-SA technique solving OCR problem DNs.

Optimal coordination of overcurrent relays in distribution systems with distributed generators based on differential evolution algorithm

Distributed generators (DGs) are defined as generators that are connected to a distribution network. The direction of the power flow and short-circuit current in a network could be changed compared with one without DGs. The conventional protective relay scheme does not meet the requirement in this emerging situation. As the number and capacity of DGs in the distribution network increase, the pr...

هماهنگی بهینه رله های اضافه جریان جهتی در شبکه های توزیع با در نظر گرفتن پایداری گذرای منابع تولید پراکنده سنکرون

Integration of distributed generation (DG) into distribution networks causes some protection challenges, which can be solved by appropriate coordination of directional overcurrent relays. The optimal coordination of directional overcurrent relays is an important task to fulfill the protection requirements of the network. This paper presents an optimal coordination method for directional overcur...

Directional Overcurrent Relays Coordination Problems in Distributed Generation Systems

This paper proposes a new approach to the distributed generation system protection coordination based on directional overcurrent protections with inverse-time characteristics. The key question of protection coordination is the determination of correct values of all inverse-time characteristics coefficients. The coefficients must be correctly chosen considering the sufficiently short tripping ti...

Optimal Distributed Generation Planning in Radial Distribution Networks Considering Protection Coordination Limits

Distributed generation (DG) has been widely used in distribution network to reduce the energy losses, improve voltage profile and system reliability, etc.  The location and capacity of DG units can influence on probability of protection mal-operation in distribution networks. In this paper, a novel model for DG planning is proposed to find the optimum DG location and sizing in radial distr...
